THE DEVELOPMENT OF
THE MINISTRY FOR THE TEENAGE BOYS

1990s

Turning into the 90s, drug and substance abuse has been becoming worse among the teenagers.
We wanted to meet the needs of them and of our society. We also saw the problems of having
the adults and teenagers together in one centre. Thus, boys under 18 years old were relocated
in another place.
Mid 1991

Seven bungalows in Lantau Island
was rented to start off the work.
We named the place "Bliss Lodge".
There are certainly ups and downs
in life, but with the power of God,
the teenagers can stand up again
and enjoy the joy and fulfilment
in life.

June 1991 A place was rented in Lei Muk Shue to set up a halfway house. 1992 Bliss Lodge was opened officially. It was a rehab centre using a holistic programme to help
teenage boys.
January 1995 Bliss Lodge was bought for the long term development in the teenage work. January 1996

The teenage boys in the halfway
house moved to the smaller
female centre in Fo Tan so
that more space would be
available for the growing
ministry for women.
